Hi all,
This message only concerns those receiving data from the IRIS DMC using
either
the SeedLink or LISS protocols.
All real-time data export feeds from the IRIS DMC are transitioning to a
new
server, users requesting data using either SeedLink or LISS protocols
should
reconfigure their software to access:
host: rtserve.iris.washington.edu
port: 18000 (default SeedLink port)
Previously used LISS feeds are available on the same ports as used on
the old
server.
*Note* The DMC's LISS service is considered deprecated and will be
discontinued in the future.
The old real-time data export services running on
bud.iris.washington.edu will
be shut down on August 31st 2008.
For most users transitioning is simply a matter of changing the host to
which
your client connects and restarting the client. To eliminate the (small)
possibility of receiving duplicate data when transitioning a SeedLink
connection the state file for each client (slink2orb) process should be
erased
after it has been shut down and before connecting to the new server.
The DMC's new SeedLink service includes an enhancement that allow users to
wildcard the network and station codes in addition to the wildcarding of
locations and stations supported previously. A client based on libslink >=
2.2 is required to take advantage of this enhancement. Overview
information
is available here:
